New twist with AI

Every piece of art carries its own story.

A looooong looooong time ago, I created a 3D-rendered piece featuring two brothers Luis & Barns. It was messy, rough around the edges, and, let’s be honest, not exactly a technical masterpiece. Yet, it always had something that made me think it deserved another chance.
But when do you really find the time for that, right? right? …right?
Yesterday I finally gave it another shot. Well me and Leonardo.ai did. And while the final image is AI-generated, the process isn’t a passive “type-a-prompt-and-go”. Instead it’s a "generate-overpaint-back-and-forth-sparring" with AI. It’s a lot more fun to steer the process instead of fully relying on the generative output.

It took me a few hours to redo the whole piece — a nice meditation away from the daily grind. These tools are definitely a shortcut to executing ideas, not an enemy of creativity.
Good job, Leonardo AI. Good job, present me [*tapping own shoulder*]. And a respectful nod to the mediocre me of past me. Haha, oh well.
